A beginners adventure into film from an audience member to behind the camera

Nikon releases D5100 DSLR with 1080p and fold out screen

I was born into a Nikon family, and started along with the DSLR video revolution with the D90. Nikon was a little slow to evolve though, and Canon took advantage of a rare opportunity in the market, basically now dominating the indie film world, by obliterating the old barrier for entry which was a decent camera to shoot on, for under a grand.

Nikon is finally responding back with full 1080p, flip out screens, and manual control during video recording. This would have been a welcome upgrade for my old D90. I don’t thing i will switch camps back this time, but those die hard Nikonians that never left, this is a great option for less than the price of the D7000.
