A beginners adventure into film from an audience member to behind the camera

Short film of the Week: R.I.P.

When most people go on a family camping vacation, you either end up bored, bug bitten or singing songs around a marshmallow cooking camp fire, but for Anders Øvergaard it’s an opportunity to make a film, and not just any film a Horror Film. R.I.P. is actually about some family members going camping in the woods (mirroring real life maybe?), when a mother and daughter get separated a young woman comes across an eerie cabin where some strange things begin to occur. This is family film making at its finest, but don’t let that fact dissuade you the Overgaard family manages in a short time to really create a chilling atmosphere and coupled with some nicely designed sound, and well executed effects, this is a short you must see. It is subtitled, but worth doing a bit of light reading.

Shot on the Canon T2i, this is some of the best footage i’ve seen come out of that camera.
