A beginners adventure into film from an audience member to behind the camera

Short Film of the Week: In Dark Trees

Caught this over at Cinema5d. This is a first time project for film makers Ian Lefebvre and Jeff Comber. Normally a first time project would not be featured here, but the concept, story and execution are that well executed that I had to share it. The short is about a young couple going for a snowy weekend camping getaway, that become lost when things start to go awry. Shot on a Canon 5DMKII, this short runs about 20 minutes. Give it a shot.

    Thanks for the post Jon.
Your comments and critisisims are appreciated.
This was the first video project taken on by Ian and myself. We are professional photographers who now have taken a big interest in video through our HDSLR’s.
We had alot of fun making this and I’m happy that people now have a chance to watch it.
    Take care.

  2. Hello Jon,
thanks for featuring movie on your blog. As this was our first time with any of this all of your comments are greatly appreciated and will be put in to practice when we get on to our next project.

As for the lack of HD upload well… I’m only a free member of Vimeo and as such I have a 500mb upload limit, probably time to become a full fledged member.

Shooting something like this over one weekend plus one day the next weekend was absolutely insane but we had a great crew and actors willing to pull off consecutive 20 hour days.

Anyway thanks again, we’ll be sure to throw up any new work we put together
